Why are you interested in this program?
I am interested in the Summer Internship Program at Courtney’s Place because this role would allow me to have hands-on experience at making a positive impact in my community. I am most looking forward to being a part of an organization that assists in bringing smiles to people’s faces. My goal as an intern this summer is to foster an environment where everyone feels encouraged, valued, and happy.
What skills or strengths would you bring to this program?
I believe the skills and strengths I can bring to this program would effectively contribute to the goal of Courtney’s Place. As a straight A Honors/AP student and National Honors Society member, I am very responsible, highly organized, and always willing to learn more, while making sure I always apply my best effort to everything I do. Earning the role of team captain of my volleyball team, I am a positive leader and work very well in groups when trying to reach a goal. As a peer tutor, I have also developed strong patience and emotional awareness with others. I am able to recognize when someone may need extra help and I always try to create nonjudgemental spaces where people feel comfortable to ask questions.
What do you hope to learn or gain from this experience?
I hope to learn more about how non profit organizations work and develop my effective leadership and communication skills. I am very excited to have experience working in a professional environment, while also having the support of others if I have questions.
