CAMP CORTNEY RECAP

July was a month full of fun, connection, and unforgettable memories! Our first-ever Camp Cortney was truly a week to remember. Members and staff embraced the camp spirit with enthusiasm, laughter, and so many engaging activities that made each day special. We are thrilled to make Camp Cortney a new tradition at Cortneys Place as we continue honoring Cortneys legacy of joy, inclusion, and community. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped make this incredible week possible. Your time, energy, and support created lasting memories for our members, and we cant wait to do it all again next year!

NEW MEMBER & STAFF SPOTLIGHT

Amber

Amber started with us at the end of June! Amber comes with a professional background of working with a wide variety of populations, mainly the homeless community. She has been excited to gain more experience with our community and program. Amber has built rapport well with all members, especially with one of our 1:1s!

Anne L

Anne joined Cortney\\\'s Place at the end of July. She\\\'s only been with us for a few weeks but has truly opened up out of her shell. Anne loves to talk to us about working at Harkins Movie Theater. She also loves to do puzzles and watch game shows with her fellow members. We are so happy to have Anne with us!

Faith S

Faith will be joining us in the beginning of August. She loves music of all genres and to sing and go to concerts. She loves movies, plays, and Disneyland. Faith is really good at Disney Trivia. She is looking forward to making new friends at Cortney\\\'s Place!

Junell

Junell started with us back in June! She has learned the members and program routine quickly and has jumped right on in. Junell has hopped in on most of our transportation routes. She is a great team member for all staff here. Thanks for being a part of our team!

Lorrie

Lorrie started with us in the beginning of July! She brings an amazing energy to program! You can find Lorrie dancing and singing along with all of our members, and still completing all the tasks she needs to do. She has created a great relationship with both staff and members. Lorrie is a great team member!

THANK YOU TO OUR EMERGING LEADERS!

A heartfelt thank you to our Emerging Leaders as we wrap up our first internship program! Their creativity, enthusiasm, and dedication brought so much joy and meaningful experiences to our members. They truly went above and beyond, and we are so grateful for the impact made. We cant wait to see them continue their leadership journey as members of our new Junior Board!
