We love seeing changes that make our communities more accessible and inclusive! 💜
A recent article shared some exciting news from Lyft that could make transportation easier for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities who receive services through Medicaid home and community-based programs.
Lyft is removing the requirement for riders using its Lyft Pass for Public Funding program to have a personal payment method on file when their rides are already being paid for through an approved program.
For many of the individuals we serve, transportation is so much more than getting from one place to another. It means independence. It means access to work, activities, friendships, and being an active part of the community.
At Cortney’s Place, we believe removing barriers, even ones that may seem small , can create BIG opportunities for the IDD community.
We’re excited to see companies like Lyft taking steps toward greater accessibility and inclusion, and we’ll continue advocating for a world where everyone has the opportunity to live a full, meaningful, and connected life. 💜
